DJI announced the RoboMaster S1 Intelligent Educational Robot for education purpose. It supports 2 programming languages, 6 programmable AI module, 46 programmable components. It has a total of 31 sensors that help it map its environment.
The RoboMaster S1 features a number of built-in AI modes, including line recognition, vision marker recognition, people recognition, clapping recognition, gesture recognition, S1 Robot Recognition.
DJI RoboMaster can be used for learning purpose. The S1 can be programmed with Scratch 3.0 or Python. Under its “Road to Mastery” options, you’ll find project-based courses on programming languages. Video tutorials and programming guides can be found under the app’s RoboAcademy. DJI will update these courses and add new ones over time.
You can even program your own custom skills for the S1 so that when during battle when you get shot from behind the S1 will automatically turn around and counter-attack your opponent.
In addition to programming education, there are some gameplay modes, including racing, free-for-all, target race.
DJI claims that it can achieve a maximum speed of 8mph and its non-removable battery can last for 30-35 minutes on a single charge.
The RoboMaster S1 can be controlled through your smartphone or tablet, or with a separate remote controller. The controller will be sold separately along as an add-on package.
DJI Robomaster S1 will come in an unassembled state. The company wants buyers to assemble it. The company claims that the process will not take more than 3 hours.
The RoboMaster S1 is currently available to order in China, Japan & the United States for $499 USD.
