Today, ISRO said, its upcoming missions get impacted by the lockdown due to Coronavirus. There are a total of 10 missions including Gaganyaan and Chandrayaan 3 which ISRO is planning to launch this year.
“Because of a pandemic, everything got disturbed. We have to make an assessment after the COVID-19 issue is resolved,” ISRO chairman K.Sivan said.
Gaganyaan and Chandrayaan 3 missions are severely impacted due to Coronavirus as industries that provide types of equipment to the space agency are still in the lockdown phase. ISRO dependent on various small and medium-size private players to provide necessary types of equipment related to the missions.
ISRO is planning to launch the Gaganyaan mission in 2022. The mission will send a three-person crew to space for a period of seven days where they will do microgravity experiments.
