Apple to launch a new 10.2-inch iPad

According to DigiTimes, Apple is working on to overhaul an affordable iPad lineup with new 10.2-inch iPad. The new entry-level iPad will go into mass production later in this year. The new iPad could be slightly bigger than the existing one and could use Apple A12 Bionic chip which is also used in iPhone XS.

Apple’s current iPad with a 9.7-inch display with Apple Pencil support launched in 2018. It was the minor upgrade to the 2017 iPad.

In other news, reports from DigiTimes claim that Apple may drop the 3D Touch technology from the flagship iPhones. Instead of 3D touch Apple will use Haptic Touch functionality found in the iPhone XR. The 3D Touch technology is expensive to make and also adds to the bulk of the device.
