Bose Sleepbuds, noise-masking earbuds have been discontinued by the company. The move came after customer complaints about the battery issues. Some customers complained that earbuds couldn’t charge completely and they power down unexpectedly. Existing customers can ask for a full refund or can choose to keep it and have it serviced under warranty. Users can place the request for return or full refund until December 31, 2019, via the Bose website.
Bose tried to fix the bugs and issues but it seems that company couldn’t succeed. Bose informed customers about the discontinuation of earbuds via email. “Based on what we knew, we believed that software and firmware updates could fix the issues. But the failures have continued, and recently, they’ve increased,” Bose General Manager John Roselli said in the email. “That led us to look more closely at each piece of hardware. And we learned that while the battery we chose functions safely, it doesn’t work as consistently or predictably as it should to meet our standards.”
Bose introduced the earbuds in 2018 at the price of $249. The Bose Sleepbuds are available in the US and Canada.
