DJI has launched the new smaller, cheaper and compact handheld gimbal for mirror-less camera called Ronin-SC. The “C” in Ronin SC stands for “Compact”. It is an upgrade to the Existing Ronin S.
Design-wise it is almost similar to Gimbal Ronin. Ronin SC is 40% smaller than its predecessor. Inspite os smaller in size Rono SC managed to deliver up to 11 hours of battery backup. It weighs about 1.1kg. It can handle payload up to 2kg. The new Ronin SC is specifically designed for smaller mirrorless cameras, with a view to single-handed run-and-gun shooting.
DJI has added two new features. One of them is called Force Mobile. It is a lighter mobile version of Force Pro, synchronizes the movement of a compatible mobile device with the gimbal. It let users stand up to 82 feet away and move their smartphones around to control where the camera and gimbal are pointing.
The other feature is called ActiveTrack 3.0. ActiveTrack 3.0 is already available for DJI’s drones and Osmo cameras. Just mount your phone to your gimbal-mounted camera using the included phone holder, and you can use the Ronin App and your smartphone’s camera to select and track and follow any object in your frame.
DJI offers Ronin SC in two variants. The standard variant costs $439 and available starting today. The Ronin-SC Pro Combo is priced at $540 and it includes an external Focus Motor, a Focus Wheel, and the Remote Start Stop (RSS) Splitter.
