DJI released the Osmo Action camera that will compete against the much famous GoPro Hero. The camera looks much similar to GoPro.
DJI Osmo Action features a 1/2.3-inch sensor that captures 12-megapixel photos (JPG or RAW) and 4K video up to 60fps at 100Mbps. It also comes with electronic image stabilization (EIS). The camera sensor captures images with a 145-degree field of view.
The back screen features a 2.25 inches touchscreen display. The front screen comes with a 1.4-inch display that is meant for shooting vlogging and selfies easier. Both camera screens come with 750-nit brightness, allowing them to be used in direct sunlight.
DJI made it dustproof, shockproof up to 5ft and waterproof down to 36ft. The camera sensor is protected with two separate anti-fingerprint coatings in addition to an anti-reflective coating.
“High-performance stabilization algorithms work in conjunction with EIS to record every movement in smooth, stable, high-quality video, even when recording 4K/60fps,” DJI says.
The camera gives 63 minutes of battery life at 4K/60, and up to 135 minutes at 1080p/30 with stabilization off.
The DJI Osmo Action can be ordered now for £329 / $349 / AU$499 from the DJI website, and it will be more widely available from May 22.
