At CES 2020, in an interview with The Verge, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the next flagship phone will have a 120Hz display refresh rate. He said OnePlus 8 Pro is likely to come with 120Hz display refresh rate later this year. Currently only Asus Rog 2 phone feature with 120Hz display rate. He added that the display would come with the MEMC (motion estimation/motion compensation) technology for smoother video playback. Other features will include a QHD+ resolution with a touch sampling rate of 240Hz and support 10-bit color.
“We believe that the smoothest smartphone display must also be able to deliver a superior visual quality and viewing comfort. We’re sure that OnePlus’s new 120Hz Fluid Display will be the best you’ll lay eyes on in 2020,” says Lau in an interview.
Earlier leaks suggest that OnePlus will be the first phone from the company to launch with a quad-camera setup. Along with three three camera lenses, OnePlus to add a 3D ToF sensor at the back of the phone. The three cameras are aligned vertically followed by an LED flash.
The OnePlus 8-series is expected to launch in May 2020. With the time we will get some more leaks and information that would clear out on how the phone will look and what will be the key specifications of the phone.
