Couple of weeks Chinese smartphone maker Oppo teases the phone with an under-display selfie camera. The phone is likely to launch on June 26 at MWC Shanghai 2019. Now Oppo shared a short video on Chinese social networking site Weibo. The 15-seconds video reveals the design of an upcoming smartphone.
The promo reveals the phone’s bezel-less display that features a selfie-camera under the display. The phone will have a notch-less edge to edge display with no space for sensors apart from the earpiece.
When the front camera is turned off, the top of the screen will be used as a working screen. Otherwise, users can click the selfie by front end camera.
Oppo VP Brian Shen said technology is still in early days. “At this stage, it’s difficult for under-display cameras to match the same results as normal cameras, there’s bound to be some loss in optical quality. But, no new technology jumps to perfection right away,” he said in Weibo post.
