HMD Global is holding an event on April 2, in Taiwan, to launch a new handset Nokia X71. The company already started sending out media invites for the same. Nokia X71 is also known as Nokia 8.1 Plus globally. The phone is the successor of Nokia 8.1 launched a few months back. While the invite doesn’t reveal the design of the Nokia 8.1 Plus, it does confirm that it will be HMD’s first phone with a 48MP camera.
The Nokia X71 aka Nokia 8.1 Plus will be HMD’s first phone to feature a 48MP sensor. This camera will be paired with a 120° ultra-wide shooter, both with Zeiss optics. As per earlier reports, Nokia X71 will have the full-screen display with a hole-punch for housing the front camera. The Nokia X71 is expected to be the first smartphone from HMD Global to feature a hole-punch display.
Nokia 8.1 Plus is likely to come with a 6.22-inch Full HD+ display. It is expected to ship with Android Pie out-of-the-box. Since the phone is the successor of Nokia 8.1 so it is a greater chance that phone might be driven with a Snapdragon 710 chipset.
