Google Meet let block anonymous users for education meeting by default

Google

Google Meet has added a new feature that will prevent anonymous users to join the education meetings. This will also prevent users to share links publicly and join the meetings as anonymous users.

Anonymous users joined the meetings and disturb other users by making noises and sharing offensive content.

The feature will be enabled by default. There is no individual admin for the feature. But Education admin can disable the feature to allow anonymous users to join the meetings.

The feature is currently available to G Suite for Education and G Suite Enterprise for Education users. It is a gradual rollout so it will take around 15-days to completely roll out the feature.
