Google pushed the mobile-first-indexing deadline

Google has delayed its deadline for mobile-first indexing from September 2020 to March 2021. From September 2021, it would rank the websites according to their mobile version.

“We realize that in these uncertain times, it’s not always easy to focus on work as otherwise, so we’ve decided to extend the timeframe to the end of March 2021,” the company said, alluding to the coronavirus pandemic as the main reason for the delay.

Google has asked the developers to optimize their websites according to the mobile version. If you are using any CMS (Content Management System) like WordPress, Blogger then you can use plugins that will turn your website and its webpages into mobile-friendly.

Google prioritizes mobile-friendly websites as most people now use smartphones, and tablets to access the internet. Google says, if your website will not be mobile, then it might impact your website’s ranking and traffic.
