Youtube Music now let users to play music stored on your phone locally

A couple of weeks back Google rolls out Youtube Music and Youtube Premium services in India. Now the company has updated the app with a new feature which allows users to play music songs stored locally on their phone. The feature is part of the latest v.3.07.52 and v.3.07.54 versions of YouTube Music. Post the update, users will be able to play an audio file by picking YouTube Music as an app to open the files from the file managers. It has the ability to play files with extensions, including MP3, Ogg, FLAC, and WAV.

How to play music locally stored audio files on YouTube Music

*Select the music song or audio file.
*This will open up the “Open with” prompt, select YouTube Music from the list.
*YouTube Music player will automatically start playing the audio
*A small music player on the screen with a black overlay, along with YouTube Music branding appear on the phone.
*As soon as you close the app, the music stops playing.

YouTube Music Premium offers a three-month free trial, after which your subscription will get activated. YouTube Music will start at ₹99 per month in India. YouTube Premium will be ₹129 per month and will include Music subscription. Youtube Premium to offer an ad-free experience with background play and offline downloads for millions of videos on YouTube, as well as access to all YouTube Originals.

It was launched in November 2015, and now currently available to 29 countries.
