As the government is preparing to ease in the lockdown, India’s Civil Ministry has recommended making the Aarogya Setu app mandatory for air travel a report from Business Standard.
“People whose Aarogya Setu app is not ‘green’ are not to be allowed inside the terminal building. Persons above 80 years will also be restricted in the first phase of resumption,” the report reads.
Aarogya Setu app is an important tool by the Indian government to curb the Coronavirus pandemic. It is developed by the National Informatics Center (NIC). Indian Railways also asked all passengers to download the app on their phones before boarding the train. The app is also mandatory for government employees who go to attend the office. PM Narendra Modi also appealed to citizens to install the app in their smartphones.
The app uses Bluetooth technology to contact trace COVID-19 patients and trigger an alert if you moved to an area where COVID-19 patients live. In addition, it also shows information about COVID-19 Do’s & Don’t and ‘How to stay safe’.
