These made in India apps are TikTok’s alternative


TikTok is banned by the Indian government as it is a threat to Indian sovereignty and the integrity of India. So if you are also a TikTok user, then you can use these apps as TikTok’s alternative. The good thing is that those apps are “made in India” and promote PM Narendra Modi’s “Atmanirnhar” mission.

Mitron TV app

As of now, the app is available on the Play Store. The app crossed over 1 crore users in just a span of around 4-month. It is a clone of the viral app TikTok. The app allows users to create short-form videos and share them with their followers. It is available in multiple regional languages including Hindi, English, and more. Like other video sharing app, it requires users to create an account before creating videos. But users can watch videos without signing-in the app.

Chingari app

The app is developed by two developers Biswatma Nayak and Siddharth Gautam. It was first launched on PlayStore in 2018 followed by App Store in 2019. Currently, it has over 25 lakhs downloads.

The app is available in multiple regional languages including Bangla, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu. The free app allows users to create short videos and share them with their friends and followers. To create and upload any videos users need to create accounts although, they can watch videos without signing in. As a promotion offer, and attract new users, Chingari offers few points on watching each video. Those points will later be redeemed for money.
