Chinese social networking app TikTok is a hub for Spyware, said, Reddit CEO, Steve Huffman. At the Social 2030 venture capital conference event this Wednesday, the CEO calls the app as “fundamentally parasitic.”
He claimed that the device uses fingerprinting technology to track users’ behavior. He said he will never install that spyware on his phone. People should also not install that app on their smartphones.
Techcrunch quoted, “Maybe I’m going to regret this, but I can’t even get to that level of thinking with them,” Huffman said. “Because I look at that app as so fundamentally parasitic, that it’s always listening, the fingerprinting technology they use is truly terrifying, and I could not bring myself to install an app like that on my phone.”
Huffman is not the only one who raised privacy concerns on Chinese Social app TikTok. Facebook’s Facebook’s COO Sheryl Sandberg, in an interview with NBC, said, “They’re a Chinese company if people are concerned about data I think there’s a lot to be concerned about there.”
