Social-networking site Twitter is testing disappearing tweets. The feature will be called fleet and that it will make tweets disappear after a period of 24-hours. The feature will similar to WhatsApp Stories and Snapchat stories.
The vanishing tweets will be viewed by tapping on a user’s profile photo, and people can only react to them with direct messages. Users will not able to retweet, like or reply to those tweets.
The company is currently testing the feature in Brazil. According to the Twitter Brazil page, “Fleets are a way to share fleeting thoughts. Unlike Tweets, Fleets disappear after 24 hours and don’t get Retweets, Likes, or public replies– people can only react to your Fleets with DMs. Instead of showing up in people’s timelines, Fleets are viewed by tapping on your avatar.”
