Ride-hailing giant Uber is considering suspending the accounts of riders and drivers who exposed to Coronavirus/COVID-19.
“We may temporarily suspend the accounts of riders or drivers confirmed to have contracted or been exposed to COVID-19,” Uber wrote. Any driver who diagnosed with COVID-19 is asked to self-isolate by a public health authority and will receive financial assistance for up to 14 days while their account is on hold.
Uber is also working with drivers to disinfect their cars regularly to stop the further outbreak. “We’ve already helped drivers in some affected areas, and we’re working to quickly implement this worldwide.”
Uber’s food delivery service Uber Eats also arranges drop-off service. Customer will provide an option on how they wanted to receive their orders. You can choose between “Please leave my order at the door” or “ring my doorbell and leave in the lobby.”
