Whatsapp is again copying the feature the Snapchat. It is testing a Snapchat-like disappearing messages feature. The feature will let messages self-destruct after a set period of time.
The feature was spotted by wabetainfo, and the beta version (dubbed v2.19.275) of the app carrying the feature is available to the limited set of users.
Users can use the feature to send sensitive information with friends and family members so that it won’t be accessible forever. Currently, the feature lets you delete messages after 5 seconds or one hour. Users will be able to set the time period after which the message will self-destruct without ant trace.
The snapshot shared by the wabetainfo shows the feature is available inside the group setting but we are sure it will work for personal chats as well.
There is no update on when the feature will launch for the public.
