Facebook is reportedly working on a Face ID unlock feature for the messenger app. The news was shared by reverse-engineer expert Jan Manchun. She shared a tweet regarding the Face ID app lock feature on her Twitter handle.

The feature will be enabled by going to the settings. They can choose the ‘Require Face ID’ option enabled to use the feature. Once they enabled the feature, they will be offered four different options. Users can choose any one of them. However, enabling the feature won’t stop the notifications. users still will be able to check notifications with the lock screen.

The feature is still in development and will take some time before available to the users. Facebook in recent times, faced lots of criticism due to it privacy policy and users’ data leaks, So it looks like Facebook will not store the facial data on their Facebook servers.
