Facebook Messenger is working to encrypt audio and video calls

Facebook, Tech News

Facebook Messenger will soon allow encrypted audio and video calls. The feature was discovered by reverse engineering specialists Jane Manchun Wong (@wongmjane). She shared the snapshot of the upcoming feature on her Twitter timeline.

In 2016, Facebook also launched a Secret Conversation feature. The feature provides end-to-end encryption for Messenger chats and enables them to self-destruct.

In addition to encrypted audio and video calls, Wong says Facebook is also working on bringing its own voice assistant to the main app.
