During Microsoft’s Future Decoded event in Mumbai, Microsoft’s CEO and Reliance Industries chairman unveils plan to bring Xcloud gaming service in India. Ambani confirmed that Jio is working on to bring Microsoft’s gaming service to the Indian users.
Ambani stated, “Gaming doesn’t really exist in India and with everything we’re doing with xCloud and our broadband connectivity, I think there is huge potential for some of us who don’t know what gaming is.”
However, Ambani didn’t share much detail about the project and how Jio will help to bring the service in India.
Microsoft unveiled the Xcloud, a game streaming service in October last year. It is designed to bring console-quality gaming to devices such as smartphones. The idea is to open up Xbox games (and in turn, a ton of third party games) to a much, much wider audience, the kind who doesn’t want to spend $300-500 on a console. Currently, the game is available as a preview to a limited number of users in South Korea.
