MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 720 5G for mid-range segment smartphones. Along with the 4G network, it also supports the 5G spectrum band.
It is based on a 7nm fabrication process. The chipset uses two Arm Cortex-A76 cores with clock speed at 2GHz. The processor is complement with an ARM Mali G57 GPU with up to 12GB fast LPDDRX4 memory and universal flash storage (UFS) 2.2.
It comes with an integrated 5G modem that can support 5G/4G Dual SIM standby, 2CC carrier aggregation, sub-6GHz 5G, and VoNR. The chipset also supports the 90Hz display rate and MiraVision HDR10+. In terms of camera, it can support up to 64-megapixel or 20-megapixel +16-megapixel dual cameras.
It is rumored that Oppo A72 will launch with a new MediaTek Dimensity 720 chipset.
