Microsoft, Tech News

Microsoft Bing has launched a website to track the number of cases for COVID-19 across the globe. The website is accessible at bing.com/covid. It shows the real-time infections around the globe.

At the time of writing the article, the count of total confirmed cased reached 1,79,406. Among those 94,061 are Active cases, 78,282 are Recovered cases and 7,063 are Fatal cases. The website shows the number of cases per-country basis. Like in India, there are currently 114 cases of COVID-19.

The site has two parts. On the left side, data is in the numerical form on the country-wise basis while on the right-side data is in the form of maps. Clicking the map or any country will open up the links to many relevant stories.

The data is being pulled up from various resources including World Health Organization (WHO), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). Microsoft did not confirm the frequency of retrieving the data.

Microsoft is not the only company that launched the website to track COVID-19. Search-giant Google will also launch a website to provide useful information about the COVID-19. Meanwhile, Google’s subsidiary Verily launched a screening website for the Bay Area of California people.
