Technology-giant Microsoft has confirmed that it is working with Jio to launch a game streaming service in India.
“Yes, we confirmed the news of our intent to bring Project xCloud to Indian gamers with Reliance Jio as part of our Future Decoded event in Mumbai in late February,” The Mako Reactor, a Japanese website quoted a Microsoft spokesperson.
Last November, at X019 in London, Microsoft announced that project Xcloud will be available in India as a preview in 2020.
Microsoft unveiled the Xcloud, a game streaming service in October last year. It is designed to bring console-quality gaming to devices such as smartphones. The idea is to open up Xbox games (and in turn, a ton of third party games) to a much, much wider audience, the kind who doesn’t want to spend $300-500 on a console. Currently, the game is available as a preview to a limited number of users in South Korea, the U.S., the UK, and Canada.
