Microsoft announced a new dual-display tablet. The new Surface Neo features dual-display and is just 5.6 mm thin. Like Samsung Galaxy Fold, it also folds like a book. The front and rear are protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
The Surface Neo sports two 9-inch screens which are connected with a 360-degree hinge. The keyboard and S-pen attaches magnetically with the surface device. The S-pen charges while being attached magnetically on the back. The device comes with a new Intel Lakefield processor that uses a stacked architecture for improved efficiency.
“We wanted to make you a product that felt smaller, that fit your lifestyle, but also in a big way that made you more productive and creative,” Microsoft hardware chief Panos Panay said.
As reported earlier, Surface Neo runs on a custom Windows 10X made especially for dual-screens.
Using Windows 10X, the Neo can customize the app to run on one screen as well as on dual-screen. While using the fold-out keyboard, Windows 10X shifts all apps and content to the primary display, while putting a “wonder bar” full of emoji and shortcuts on top of the keyboard.
