Samsung on Tuesday announced that it sold record-breaking 5 million Galaxy A smartphones in just 70 days starting March 1. This record-breaking sale helped Samsung to achieve $1 billion in revenue.
Currently, there are six models for A-series are available in India including Galaxy A50, A30, A20, A10, A70, and A2 Core.
“We now have six models in the A series and are receiving great response from across the country. The A2 Core, which was our entry-level offering, is driving a huge volume. In 70 days, we have already sold 5 million units under the A series and are well on track with our $4 billion targets,” Samsung India Senior Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer Ranjivjit Singh told PTI.
“Among the six Galaxy A phones, the Galaxy A50 is selling much faster than our expectations. We are ramping up supply to meet the increasing demand,” Singh added.
Samsung is now preparing to launch Galaxy A80 smartphones to further boost sales in the ongoing quarter. The phone is scheduled to launch in next month but pre-booking will start in the coming weeks this month.
