Samsung Electronics has suspended the PlayGalaxy Link service. The service lets you stream the PC games to your mobile phones over the local network or the internet. Samsung said the service will be shut down on March 27, 2020.
“Thank you for playing and supporting PlayGalaxy Link throughout the beta period. PlayGalaxy Link team hereby informs you of the end of service on 3/27/2020. After many difficult discussions, PlayGalaxy Link will be ended on 27 March 2020 due to internal policy changes”, Samsung wrote in a blog.
Samsung did not announce why it is shutting down the game but recently it partnered with Microsoft for xCloud gaming service. The game service will allow Samsung users to stream games on their smartphone via Microsoft’s xCloud.
The service was launched in September last year. PlayGalaxy Link connects to your Samsung account on both the phone and computer. It will detect all the games installed on your computer and list them. You can also manually add the games as well. The service works with a wide range of smartphones including Samsung Galaxy S10, Note 10, Galaxy Fold, Galaxy A90, and Galaxy S9.
