Samsung’s new watch is 14% thinner and 15% lighter than its predecessor Galaxy Watch. Galaxy Watch 3 launched in two variants–41mm and 45mm.
The 41mm variant features a 1.2-inch OLED display while 45mm features a 1.4-inch OLED display. In terms of technicals, it is powered by the dual-core Exynos 9110 CPU, paired with Mali-T720 GPU, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage.
The watch includes a number of fitness tracking features. One of the key features is to monitor the oxygen level in the blood and alerts users if it goes below the threshold value. In select markets, it will also able to measure blood pressure and electrocardiography. The watch also features a trip and fall detection feature that will let users send SOS alerts to the emergency contacts. The feature is already present in the Apple Watch.
Other fitness tracking features include sleep tracking, workout modes, women’s health tracking, and ambient light sensors. The watch offers a hands-free Bixby assistant, Samsung Pay for mobile payments (NFC only), and customizable watch faces.
For connectivity, it has Bluetooth as well as a built-in GPS. It also has a speaker and microphone so you can use the watch hands-free.
The watch runs Samsung’s own Tizen platform. The watch can last for 2-days on a single charge.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 price
The Watch 3 announced in two variants–stainless steel and titanium. However, the Titanium variant will be made available later in the year. Both watches are available in LTE and Wi-Fi variants. The 41mm model costs $399 while the 45mm variant costs $429. The smaller sized watch is launched in silver and bronze colors while larger variant is available in black and silver colors.
