Facebook the parent company of Whatsapp announced that Whatsapp status stories will start showing ads by next year (2020).
Facebook made the announcement on the annual Facebook Marketing Summit in the Netherlands. The company presents some slides which showed how ads will look within the app. The news also shared by an attendee Olivier Ponteville on his Twitter timeline.

According to an image shared by Olivier, the ads would be displayed entirely on the screen and a link will redirect users to the website.
The advertisements would be powered by Facebook’s native advertising system and would be aimed at helping users understand and participate in businesses using the messaging app.
